CFCP was founded in 2011 and is a ministry of Three Crosses: A United Methodist Fellowship. The aim of the Clear Fork Christian Preschool is to provide a nurturing Christian environment which promotes the physical, social, moral, emotional and cognitive development of young children. We also feel it is vital to serve the needs of the entire family.
We believe that quality education for young children involves implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum. In this type of program child-directed, teacher supported, exploration and learning experiences are designed so that each child can construct knowledge at their own developmental level and pace. Trust, social interaction, and play are seen as the foundations of which children develop problem-solving skills, language, and self-esteem. The curriculum should be flexible in order to provide many opportunities for children to make choices, select from alternatives, and determine their own course of action within the established program. This type of environment fosters trusting relationships, autonomous functioning of children, and the ability to take risks. The cornerstone of our program is active learning when the child uses questions, exploration, discovery and planning.
We consider parents to be an integral part of the learning experience. They are encouraged to be active participants in their child’s educational program. Through nurturing the whole family we feel optimal growth and development of each child results.
